Alan Sutton

Alan Sutton has been working in the real estate industry since 1978. In 1984 he joined the Locations team, after a successful career in real estate in his home town of Invercargill. Local knowledge and long term working relationships with many people in the district and around the globe are two key strengths that Alan brings to real estate. An accomplished Auctioneer (and strong aficionado of this form of selling) has seen him lower the gavel on many millions of dollars worth of real estate in the district - the single largest transaction being some $60 million. Family interests are paramount in his life and his wife Joan and three children, who have all grown up in the Wakatipu, have embraced and supported Alan always, as he often says "real estate is a life not a job". Alan has been involved or organised a wide range of local community projects, committees and fundraising events since moving to the lakes district. Alan’s other passions include a life long interest in all things mechanical, particularly antique cars from the Art Deco period. So when there’s not an auction, family or community project requiring attention you will most likely find him tinkering or creating in his workshop(with his phone on!).
